The Kuckó Children’s Temporary Home, located on the premises of the SOS Children’s Village in Kecskemét, provides a safe shelter for families in crisis, for example, those who have lost their home or are escaping abusive relationships. On average, 20 families per year find temporary housing and support at Kuckó to restart their lives. The program aims to prevent children from entering state care and to help the family unit remain intact, so that they can rebuild their future together.

How SOS Children’s Villages Helps Them:

  • Provides housing and meals for families for 1 year
  • Professionals help families plan their lives anew
  • Psychologists regularly work with the children
  • Offers lectures and group sessions on life skills and parenting
